Chatura Dissanayake is an independent game developer in Sri Lanka, focusing on interactive design and civic education. They create experiences that treat serious, real-world issues like misinformation, bureaucracy, and elections with the same care as entertainment titles.
Road Remains is a civic-realism game currently in development, set in the fictional Sri Lankan town of Alupotha. The game design document explains its focus on illustrating how misinformation spreads before elections and how individual decisions can have ripple effects. It is being developed trilingually in English, Sinhala, and Tamil, adhering to strict accessibility standards.
Chatura's approach emphasises systems that teach through consequences, avoiding moralising, allowing players to sit with discomfort and participate despite imperfection. In Road Remains, nothing is fully resolved, and characters are not entirely right; it doesn’t reward cynicism or blind trust.
Since April 2026, they have self-funded 400+ hours on engine, narrative, and systems. They seek collaborators for localisation, illustration, and playtesting, as well as support for paid contributors.
